Not a rescue.
Not a rebuild.
The original build.
SHB connects clients with creative talent across strategy, design, development, content, and production. Daniel Schaab, SHB’s founder and creative director, had the brand and the design direction — he needed an engineering partner to turn it into a production platform, and trusted us with the whole build.
We wrote the first commit in June 2025 and shipped the initial build in eight weeks: the component architecture, the animation systems, the waitlist infrastructure, the performance and SEO layer. We’ve been SHB’s engineering partner ever since — evolving the platform with the brand and collaborating on projects beyond it.
Initial build shipped in eight weeks. Partners ever since.
Every detail, curated.
The polish nobody writes in a spec, but everybody feels.
No flash, ever
Every hero image fully decodes in memory before it swaps in, so profile transitions never flicker. Hovering pauses the cycle.
Fonts before paint
The site waits for fonts to finish loading, then fades in. Visitors never see a flash of fallback text.
Mobile Safari, tamed
CSS path animations silently fail on iOS, so the roadmap's SVGs were rebuilt as stroke-drawn line animations that run on every device.
Motion with manners
Buttery smooth scrolling throughout, and every animation backs off when a visitor prefers reduced motion.
Vision & beliefs
True potential.
Unlocked together.
Through shared values.
Shared values, trust, and collaboration have always driven meaningful progress. That hasn’t changed – we just forgot.
What we shipped.
Design system, implemented in code
Daniel's design language translated into a hundred-component React codebase — Radix primitives extended with a custom Tailwind layer, component variants handled with CVA, everything typed.
Animated hero system
Profile groups of the collective's creatives rotate through the hero in choreographed sets, with staggered enter and exit animations and a six-color border palette cycling behind every avatar.
A waitlist that runs itself
Supabase Postgres with row-level security behind a validated signup form — duplicate-email detection, rate limiting, bot checks, per-audience welcome emails through an edge function with Resend, and a digest that sends itself every 5 days on a pg_cron schedule.
Project showcase
Case-study pages for SHB's own client work, with infinite-scroll navigation that flows from one project into the next.
GDPR consent
Cookie banner with granular preferences. Analytics load only after opt-in, and the choice persists across visits.
Performance, SEO & security
Route-level code splitting, vendor chunking, brotli compression, and a font-loading strategy on the performance side; structured data and per-page metadata for search; HSTS and security headers at the edge.
Most devs we hired before would slow us down and miss the design. Vitale Systems was quick and the build looked exactly like the Figma. We've been working with them ever since.
